Visiting Coach

Yeong do Jeong a Korean coach will be in Tasmania on Sunday 17 March. Ulverstone Judo Club worked through a process to ensure we obtain a high ranking Judo player. This is a fantastic opportunity to be shown and be trained by the best. Yeong do Jeong will be with us for 3 months and will compete at the State Titles.

Yeong do trains at the prestigious Yong In University located in Samga-dong, South Korea. The school opened as Korea Judo School in 1953 under the founding slogan of “Be the one who contributes to society through moral cultivation.”  The University program is headed by the Korean Olympic and World Champion Jeon.

His visit to Tasmania will provide a range of positive outcomes for Tasmanian Judo.  Further to coaching and player development, the visit will provide a number of opportunities to increase participation and support the promotion of grassroots judo.

So please ensure you can attend our training sessions for this great opportunity.

  • Monday Night at Devonport Judo Club- 5pm onward
  • Tuesday Night at Ulverstone Judo Club – 5pm onwards
  • Wednesday Night at Ulverstone Judo Club – 6.30pm onwards
  • Thursday Night at Ulverstone Judo Club – 6.30pm onwards
  • He will also be at our state trainings through this period
